Jackie Pappas RECE

DIRECTOR

I graduated from the Early

Childhood Education program from Humber College. I have led a team of dedicated RECE's for over 30 years, supporting the development of programs that are current and support best practices for children and families. My passion is making children laugh and guiding them through song.

I am fluent in English.

Barsha Berma-Sawh RECE

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

I graduated from the Early Childhood Education program from Centennial College in 2017 and have been working as an RECE ever since.

My main goal is to help young children learn through play and discover a world that is inclusive and special to them.  I speak fluent English, Nepali and understand Hindi.

Carrie Zimmerman

RECE

I earned my Early Childhood Education certificate through Seneca College in 2018.   I then went on to attain a bachelor's degree in early childhood studies at the University of Guelph Humber.  I am a passionate and caring RECE with a love of art and hands-on learning.  I am fluent in English and French.

Maria Maryiam

RECE

I am a passionate caregiver and educator.  I graduated from Seneca College with my ECE and I have worked in childcare for 10 years.  My joy comes from providing a nurturing and caring environment to children.  I speak English, Urdu and Punjabi.

Phoebe Lapac

I graduated from Humber College as an ECE in 2021.  I may not have years of experience yet but this is just the start of my journey as an RECE , and I am beyond grateful to be part of Village Green Child Care Centre.   As a new educator, I am excited to share my knowledge gained throughout the years of studies with my fellow co-workers and parents.  I am very excited to provide children with new experiences that will help them with their overall development and nurture them in an inclusive and safe environment.  I am fluent in English and Tagalog.

Ramya Vengadessin

I graduated from Ryerson University with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Studies in 2013.  Over the years I have developed strong skills in developing creative interactive learning activities, observing and reporting on child development and behaviour, guiding children with appropriate behavioural management strategies while supporting  independence and a safe environment to be themselves and learn through what they do best - play!

I am fluent in English and Tamil.

Laila Yosefzay

RECE

I graduated from the Early Childhood Education program at Seneca College in 2020.   I am very passionate about helping children learn and grow at their own unique pace through the implementation of activities, new concepts and  experiences.  Being a part of such a crucial stage in their development journey is very rewarding to me.  I look forward to continuing to have a positive impact on the children's growth as I believe children can teach us as much as we teach them.  I am fluent in English, Pashto and understand Dari.

Rivoncy Oliver

I graduated from the Early Childhood Education program at Seneca College in 2020.  I believe that every child needs nurturing and care as they grow.  As an educator I would like to enlighten children's minds to new experiences and new learning strategies.  I also believe building strong relationships with children and their families is very important.  I am fluent in English and Tamil.

Katherine Ramlochan

I graduated with honours from Centennial College as an Early Childhood Educator. I've always had a passion for working with children.  Helping them explore and expand on their interests and curiosity always brings joy to me when I see their eyes light up to something new and exciting.  Through our learning opportunities and experiences, I hope to help every child meet their full potential.  I believe maintaining a positive and open atmosphere for our centre is key for the children, parents and co-workers to create a great space for learning.

Julie Pollock

ECA

I have been a full time Early Childhood Education Assistant for over 10 years.  I am currently completing my ECE degree here in Toronto.  The most important goal for me is to develop meaningful long lasting relationships with the children and families in my care, and give them the best quality early education and loving care that I can.   I am excited to be able to nurture and educate young children on their journey to kindergarten and beyond.

My favorite thing about childcare is watching children develop their social confidence and individual strengths.

I graduated from the Early Childhood Education program from Seneca College in 2020.  I am dedicated to the development of each child and make it my goal to make sure that each child receives the best care and love that they all deserve.  I am fluent in English, Pashto and understand Dari.

I graduated from the Centennial College Early Childhood Education Program in 2014.  I have learned how to work effectively in a diverse environment through serving children and their families of various cultures.  I believe creating a positive atmosphere throughout the day is important in developing the child's sense of belonging and well-being, and strive to achieve this with children, parents and fellow co-workers.

I speak English and Korean.

Screener / Food Preparer

I am passionate about providing great service in food and beverage.  I have had the opportunity to work as a Sushi Chef as well as operate a restaurant with my husband when we first came to Canada in 1997.  I am excited to be a part of this team and to serve the children and families in this community.

I speak English and am fluent in Nepali.

I am very excited to join the team at Village Green Child Care Centre to support the COVID-19 efforts as escorter in the afternoons.  I look forward to meeting everyone at the end of the day.
